Guest Teacher
Richard
Rein is an internationally renowned master teacher, with a particular
interest in helping to develop technique, artistry and musicality
in his students. He is often invited and continues to be available
to teach at high schools, colleges, and regional and professional
schools and ballet companies around the country.
Régisseur
Many of the wonderful choreographers who visited St. Paul's School
during Mr. Rein's tenure as director of dance have given him the
rights to stage their ballets. These ballets range from classical
to contemporary, modern to theatrical. The list of choreographers
includes Lisa de Ribère, Paul Vasterling, Sally Rousse,
and Chet Walker. Some of the ballets are age-appropriate for advanced
level students, while others are mature enough for professional
dancers. Mr. Rein looks forward to sharing this beautiful and
diverse repertory with interested schools and companies.
Coach
Through Mr. Rein's career he has had the opportunity
to train and coach some of America's finest dance professionals.
He has coached in competitions including the Prix de Lausanne,
the International Ballet Competition, and the Art Recognition
and Talent Search. Many of his students have won awards in these
competitions. In addition, Mr. Rein has coached many students
preparing for college and professional auditions. He is available
for individual coaching and teaching in preparation for competition
or auditions, as well as for individual training.
Consultant
As
director of dance at the St. Paul's School for twenty-seven years,
Mr. Rein's experience in founding the program and helping to design
the dance building make him especially qualified to consult with
any school, academic or professional, about their dance program.
Mr. Rein is available to help develop or evaluate the direction
of the program.
