Kimiye Corwin

Kimiye Corwin was born in Stamford, CT. She studied ballet in Dallas, at the San Francisco Ballet School, and at St. Paul's School in Concord, NH. While studying at The Juilliard School (BFA '98), Ms. Corwin performed works by Jose Limon, Paul Taylor, Benjamin Harkarvy and Igal Perry.She joined the Limon Dance Company in 1998, dancing and touring in the United States and internationally. Of Jose Limon's work, Ms. Corwin has performed A Choreographic Offering, Missa Brevis, The Winged and There is a Time ("A Time to Laugh" solo). She has also performed in repertory works by Donald McKayle, Anthony Tudor, Doug Varone, and Jiri Kylian.Ms. Corwin has taught for the Limon Summer Intensive Workshop in New York City, at inner city schools, and for the St. Paul's School Dance Department, headed by Richard Rein. Her own choreography has been selected for The Juillard Stage Workshops and performed in and out of New York City.
